In this time of global flow and uncertainty, the industry has played, thanks to the growing importance of design management, a leading role in widespreading emotional objects that have had a growing impact in defining our daily needs because they could exactly answer to generally undefined socio-economical demands. The role of the designer is that of posing and proposing the right questions to institutions, the industry and citizens associations thanks to his total awareness of the global and local development of the socio-economic system.
A good example, is, among many others, the coming of the Velib' in Paris. Similar projects already existed in a much smaller scale, and designers like Patrick Juin or Attoma design have adaptded the problematic to the scale of the town and developed the sucessful sustainable service that is now copied throughout the world.
